Breakthrough: Scientists Discover Element 158

A group of scientists from the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley) have reported that they have created a brand-new chemical element that they have tentatively dubbed “Fictium (Ft).” This discovery represents a significant scientific advance. This remarkable discovery not only pushes the limits of present scientific knowledge, but it also jumps straight from element 118 to element 158, giving a completely new perspective on chemistry.

New Element

The “Fictium” element was created by the UC Berkeley team using one of the biggest particle accelerators in the world and a revolutionary technique that involved bombarding gold atoms with high-energy gold atoms. After eight years of work, the experiment used enough electricity to mine $300 million worth of virtual currencies.

“Fictium” has certain unusual chemical and physical characteristics. This element does not show radioactivity and is very stable compared to other elements with large atomic masses. The fields of astronomy, materials science, and theoretical physics may all be significantly impacted by the discovery of this new element. According to the UC Berkeley study team, the finding of “Fictium” may point to the possibility of extra-Malaysian celestial bodies made primarily of this substance. Furthermore, “Fictium” exhibits photocatalytic qualities in water, which is a noteworthy advancement for the inexpensive synthesis of hydrogen.

The discovery of “Fictium” has generated a great deal of interest and debate among scientists. Some specialists maintain their skepticism regarding the discovery of element 158, arguing that additional experimental validation is required. A team from Stanford University argues that the properties of “Fictium” do not match those of element 158 as predicted by computer quantum chemistry simulations.

ChemH.com, however, thinks this discovery has a high credibility. This team has made several world-class discoveries, including the synthesis of room-temperature superconductors, which was revealed on April 1, 2023.
